Education Quality in the 21st Century: Excellence for Global Sustainable Development——UNESCO-ICHEI participated in the global forum of UNESCO-RCQE
On 11 November 2022, the International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI) attended the global forum under the theme of "Education Quality in the 21st Century: Excellence for Global Sustainable Development" organised by the UNESCO Regional Centre for Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE).

Ms. Farida Aboudan, Education specialist of UNESCO Doha Office for Gulf States and Yemen, and Dr. David Atchoarena, Director of UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, attended the meeting and shared cases on improving policies, curricula, approaches and practices in education systems to meet sustainable development needs. Emad Najm, UNESCO RCQE Project Officer, pointed out that in order to achieve sustainable education and tackle the challenges of global and regional development, countries and institutions should give priority to school education outcomes, and integrate resources from all aspects through effective communication, so as to improve the quality assurance mechanism and scale up impact.

Prof. Li Ming, Director of UNESCO-ICHEI, delivered a presentation on the topic of "education quality and innovative solutions to support sustainable development". He stated that in the post pandemic era, it has become a global consensus that Higher Education Institutions should continue to adopt blended learning and promote digital transformation of teaching and learning. Through the integration of plans, course resources and teaching tools in alignment with the IIOE quality assurance system, UNESCO-ICHEI leverages the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) to provide trainings and tools to improve teachers' digital teaching capacity and the quality of online and blended teaching in HEIs. In addition, Prof. Li Ming introduced the "IIOE Quality Assurance Framework and Toolkit", IIOE capacity building programmes, blended learning pilot projects, and expressed UNESCO-ICHEI's vision to improve the quality of digital teaching, build future-oriented education, and facilitate the digital transformation of higher education.
