First IIOE Global Webinar in Russian Has Been Successfully Launched

On 21th December 2021 at 12:00-13:00 (Moscow time, UTC+3), UNESCO-ICHEI and the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE) co-organised the first Russian webinar session on higher education digital transformation, in empowering the higher education workforce in Russian-speaking regions.
Dr. Alexander Molchanov, as the guest speaker of the webinar, delivered a presentation on digital competencies needed for digital universities in Russian-speaking countries. Specifically, he not only took a deep dive into the influence of technological and socioeconomic development on the transformation of modern universities, but also analysed the digital competency profiles for teachers and other professionals working in the higher education system. The outline of his presentationwasas follows:
- the main trends affecting universities over the past few years;
- digital transformation of universities, including during the pandemic;
- competency profiles for university leaders and teachers;
- models for the formation of digital competencies among teaching and personnel;
- models for the assessment of digital competencies when applying for a job;
- from digital competencies to digital literacy.
