The Smart Classroom of Kyrgyz National University was delivered
On November 14-23, 2023, Tang Xiangzheng, Chief Technology Officer of Smart Classroom Project, UNESCO-ICHEI went to Kyrgyzstan and completed the installation and training of the Smart Classroom at Kyrgyz National University (KNU), marking the official landing and successful delivery of UNESCO-ICHEI’s first Smart Classroom in Central Asia.
Professor Tolobek, Rector of KNU, thanked UNESCO-ICHEI for its support, stating that the university has been looking forward to the installation of smart classroom for a long time, and expressed that UNESCO-ICHEI should provide support in training and empowering teachers in the use of smart classroom. Tang Xiangzheng introduced the overview, installation and training plan of the smart classroom, as well as the new progress of the IIOE project, including micro-certification, encouraged KNU to incorporate suitable IIOE courses into their curriculum, and also share their resources to the IIOE platform. Professor Tolobek stated that a meeting should be organized by relevant departments and UNESCO-ICHEI.
Professor Sofya, Dean of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Institute, highly recognizes UNESCO-ICHEI to drive advanced enterprise solutions into universities. She hopes to continue in-depth cooperation and proposes to carry out cooperation with Chinese universities, including the Southern University of Science and Technology.

The Smart Classroom of KNU adopts a new solution provided by Createview, mainly including a recording system, student tablets, teaching management software, and VR software and hardware. It can achieve automatic tracking recording, carry out digital teaching, VR teaching demonstration, and 3D model import. Mr. Ulugbek, the focal point of the KNU and Ms. Juma, the smart classroom manager, got a deep understanding of the functions of the smart classroom. They made a plan to fully utilize the smart classroom, accumulate experience and promote the continuous upgrading of the smart classroom project.
UNESCO-ICHEI has provided training to over 40 teachers and technical personnel from KNU, and invited teachers to have practical teaching experiences, receiving positive feedback.

Subsequently, the smart classroom will further integrate new enterprise solutions and continue to upgrade in Artificial Intelligence, VR training and other fields, in order to promote the comprehensive development of the digital transformation in higher education of KNU.
Kyrgyz National University, founded in 1932, is a large HEI that integrates both teaching and learning and scientific research in Kyrgyzstan. It is also the cultural centre of its nation, and is equipped with infrastructures related to scientific research, teaching and learning. According to statistics, 80-90% of scientists of the Kyrgyz Academy of Sciences graduated from KNU. KNU operates in a modern way and it is one of the first Kyrgyz HEIs that enters the multi-layer teaching and learning system, adopts distributed technical teaching, and combines international educational programmes with domestic educational plans. It is the largest centre for scientific research in Kyrgyzstan and has profound achievements in the fields of physics, chemistry and chemical technology, mathematics and others. KNU is a member of Commonwealth of Independent States Network Universities, EURAS-Eurasian Universities Union, and League of Universities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the participant and partner of TACIS Programmes, European Community Programmes, European Scientific Research Programmes, more than 30 international educational projects, United Nations Development Programme, UNESCO, International Research and Exchanges Board and other institutions. |
