On 19 August 2021, the International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI) delegation visited Ningxia University to discuss further cooperation. Led by Prof. LI Ming, Director of UNESCO-ICHEI, the delegation includes Prof. HAN Wei, Executive Deputy Director, WANG Min, Industry-education Consultant, LYU Feng, Assistant Director and Chief of IIOE Management Centre, BI Xiaohan, Assistant Director and Chief of West-Asia and Africa Programme Office, and Dr. Feng Siyuan, Course Expert of IIOE Management Centre. LI Xing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ningxia University, WANG Yujiong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ningxia University, LI Shaoxian, Director of the China-Arab research institute of Ningxia University, and directors of relevant departments of the university attended the meeting.
LI Xing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ningxia University, introduced to the delegation of UNESCO-ICHEI the development plan and achievements of the university in discipline construction and talent training. He hoped that UNESCO-ICHEI and the Collaborative Innovation Center for Arab Studies Jointly Sponsored by Provinces and the Ministry of Education (Ningxia University) would expand cooperation areas, leverage their respective professional and technical advantages, and continue to support the innovation and digital transformation of higher education in developing countries. He expressed his hope that UNESCO-ICHEI could further establish a broad and multi-channel talent cooperation mechanism with the government of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, share human resources and effectively promote the deep integration of industry, academia and research.
Prof. LI Ming, Director of UNESCO-ICHEI, introduced the team and flagship projects of UNESCO-ICHEI. He expressed that UNESCO-ICHEI hopes to deepen the cooperation with Ningxia University, leverage Ningxia University's distinctive disciplinary advantages and teaching and research resources, and strengthen cooperation and exchange in the areas of higher education innovation, Arabic language, China-Arab cooperation in joint research and knowledge production, and jointly build a high-level think tank platform.
In March 2021, on the occasion of the visit of a delegation from Ningxia University to UNESCO-ICHEI, the two sides signed theStrategic Cooperation Framework Agreement between UNESCO-ICHEI and Collaborative Innovation Center for Arab Studies Jointly Sponsored by Provinces and the Ministry of Education.The two sides will build on the solid foundation already in place by signing an agreement between the UNESCO-ICHEI and Ningxia University to deepen and implement cooperation.
Ningxia University
Ningxia University is a university jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, a national university for the construction of "first-class disciplines", and a national key university of “Project 211”. Ningxia University is a comprehensive university with coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as science, engineering, agriculture, economics, management, literature, law and arts. The university insists on characteristic, innovative annd high quality development.
